Finding appropriate content to put on your blog or website can seem challenging until you step outside your comfort zone. On your blog you can fill it with a variety of content produced in many different ways.

The main ways to fill your blog with content right now are:

Videos

Most people create videos for their blogs with either their webcam or phone and use some sort of editing software such as Camtasia. It depends on your skill level and what you want to learn on which program you use. Once you get started it's not that hard to do. You really don't have to be perfect, you can record a quick video using your phone and upload it -- flaws and all -- and most people don't care! People love seeing the real you.

Text Based Content

Written posts, are simply the unique articles and blogs that you are accustomed to seeing and putting on your blog and website. This is everything from a blog post, sales pages, opt-ins, and articles. You can write these yourself, use private label rights (PLR) or hire a ghostwriter.

Podcasts

These are audio-only and can be distributed straight off your site, or through a medium such as iTunes. This can be used to record an interview or a "radio" like show for your visitors to download and listen to while they look at the rest of the content on your blog. You can use a couple of different programs to create podcasts such as Audacity, or your favorite audio editor.

“How To” Content

You could write a how-to tutorial in text and accompany it with a video. With a program like Camtasia, you can actually record a PowerPoint show, include music, and your voice reading the lesson.

Hot Topics

Yes! You can use any of these methods to include various relevant hot topic and current event issues that are in the media currently. Don't shy away from hot topic issues. As long as you stick to the facts to back up what you're talking about, it's fine.

Using a variety of different types of content will help your blog stand out and help keep it from getting boring. It will allow you to keep your reader’s attention and to reach everyone regardless of how they prefer to consume data since you are offering it in all different ways.
